ellis creek kitchens story
Located in Penticton BC, Ellis Creek Kitchens was established in 1998 with a showroom and small woodworking shop for special custom pieces. Initially we incorporated stock cabinets from large manufacturers for our projects but within 3 years we began to fabricate our own cabinets to serve the custom designs we were developing. Over the years the showroom and shop have relocated twice to larger premises and the expanded woodworking shop now features the very latest in modern CNC machinery and tools.
Supporting our local economy is an important part of our philosophy and we are proud to say that most of our products are now fabricated in Penticton by employees living in the South Okanagan and Similkameen valleys. Among others, our material suppliers include StyleLine in Kelowna for solid wood doors, Hardwoods for solid wood and veneer products, Marathon, McKillican and Richelieu for hardware and cabinet accessories and inserts. We exclusively use lifetime-warranted Blum Hardware manufactured in Austria.
With more than 40 years of experience, Annie Hiltz, our primary designer and owner of the business is an expert in fine cabinetry and millwork, working with a crew of craftsmen, technicians and designers with similar experience. All design, fabrication, finishing and installation are done in-house and this hands-on approach is the reason we can provide our high quality product.
There are a great many professionals with extensive industry knowledge who work behind the scenes at our company - technicians who translate our designers artistry into shop drawings and machine language; managers and purchasing agents who ensure all required products are ordered and received on time; and craftsmen who operate our computer-controlled CNC machinery, apply our premium finishes and install our products on site.
